From the President

Welcome to MANNA Worldwide! I am grateful for your interest in caring for the children of the world. We at MANNA have been blessed with the opportunity to partner with many workers in over 38 countries on five continents.

In 1991, the first MANNA Nutrition Center was started by my wife and I in the outskirts of Manilla, Philippines. We had a church located near a middle class community and squatter villages. The church was thriving but lacked the financial means to care for the poor who came asking for assistance weekly. After being confronted with this need, we began looking for partners to financially support our ministry by helping us start a school and feed the marginalized children in our community.

The members of our church took the money that began trickling in and became passionately involved in opening a school which welcomed the poor, provided books, uniforms, and warm meals each day. By opening this part of our ministry, many families became involved in the church. My wife and I found that by taking care of these children’s education and many of their meals, families were now able to stretch their meager budgets to survive.

What began with us looking for ways to care for poor families in the Philippines has now grown to seeing more than 8,000 children being fed each day. MANNA is also blessed to be involved with 15 orphanages.

As you consider your role in easing suffering, I ask that you not only contribute financially, but that you make a point to join us on a short term trip to see the projects that have begun. We encourage everyone to come and see for themselves the work that has been done and I look forward to the chance to personally meeting you in your travels.
